Day off
Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 07:39PM After the beating my body has taken over the last few weeks, I decided to have a well deserved day off from skiing, and ohhhhh did I need it. I slept until 10 and then I basically sat inside watching TV all day long. The only exception to this is when I went for lunch.
I thought since I started to organise the next few weeks of travel that I would share with you what my travel schedule will look like. It's going to be super busy but I think it will be totally worth it:
9th - 12th Feb Dew tour Utah
13th - Travel to France
14th - 19th Feb Frostgun Big Air, France
20th Feb Travel to LA
21st Feb Travel from LA to Mammoth
22nd - 28th feb Training Mammoth
29th feb - 5th March Fis World Cup Mammoth
6th - Travel back to France
7th - 11th Find some where sick in france to ski. Any suggestions?
12th - 18th March European Xgames, France
As you can see, its a pretty hectic schedule with a lot of travel. I think it will be totally worth it though. I'll get to hit some awesome jumps and ski some sick locations. Hope I can get a podium in the next few events. It would be sick, coming back from injury, to be top 3 in an event. Fingers crossed!
I think the weather tomorrow in Breckenridge is ment to be horrible but I think I will go and ski anyway. Got to try and work on my rail game a bit ;)

Another day skiing
Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 07:00PM The weather forecast last night was saying that today would be horrible. I decided to wake up and go ski rails anyway, but to my suprise, it was perfect blue bird with no wind again! How much better can it get?
I did a few laps through the big line in the morning and decided to have a crack at the switch double cork 12 again. I managed to get it which I'm super stoked on. Hopefully I can do it at the upcoming events!
Then in the afternoon I hit some rails and filmed with PK and my filmer, Lucas. I think we got some pretty good shots. One thing I did, which I think is pretty good for my knee, is hike. I hiked all afternoon and my legs are super tired now but I know that it is super good for my leg's to be doing this, not to mention it's super hard at this altitude.
My knee is feeling pretty good. Although the smaller muscles are still getting pretty tired from how much I have been skiing. It feels solid when I am jumping and riding rails but when I get home it feels super tired. I'm hoping that by the end of the season this feeling is gone!

Awesome day
Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 04:09PM Breckenridge has hands down the best park in the world right now. I went up to the hill with the mindset that I would just have fun, cruise and actually ski instead of putting pressure on my self to learn and perfect tricks.
That went out the window as soon as I started skiing. I actually ended up learning a new trick, switch dub 12, which I have had in my head for a long time but I have never actually gone for it.
I did a bunch of switch 7's to set up for the trick and it was feeling good so I went for it. Turns out it was a good idea as I landed it first go. I did 3 or them and on the 3rd I went to the bottom of the landing and landed backseat, which definitely didn't feel to good on my knee. That's when I decided to hit th small jumps and have some fun :)

Super stoked!

Checking out footage!

Mid switch dub!

Set up switch 7
Looking forward to skiing with everyone over the next week. Hopefully the sun stays out so I can work on a few other tricks before I start to travel to the next dew tour.

Back in Breck
Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 10:11PM I guess thats Xgames for another year. Last night was Big Air and I have to say, it was one of the toughest things I have had to watch. I skied the practice session as there was still a chance to make it into the competition.
Pk was 1st alternate and I was 2nd. Pk made it in because Alex Schlopy dropped out of the event due to a nagging knee injury from slopestyle. I on the other hand didn't get the chance to compete and had to watch everyone else ski. I felt like I was skiing well in practice. I landed a few different double cork variations which I was stoked on.
The event was crazy. Congrats to Bobby for throwing some of the smothest double cork 12's I have ever seen. Kai Mahler is nuts and almost landed a switch double misty 1620 and I am also super stoked to see Jossi back on the podium. Gus was also getting some sick switch doubles. If he can get the switch double cork 12 blunt that he was trying, my mind will be blown haha. I also hope Sammy Carlson is all good. He went down super hard on a sick looking double cork 1620.

I am back in Breck now and I am hoping the weather is good so I can learn some tricks and do some filming. I need to learn some tricks for the cmpetitions that are coming up and also for the comp's that are later in the season.
Stay tuned
Russ
